You know that feeling when a storm’s on its way?
I’ve always loved it. The way the colours shift, the sky moves fast, the air suddenly cools. It’s like Mother Nature’s building up to something big, and you can’t help but stop and watch.
For this piece, I played with cool tones to show that dramatic change in temperature and mood. The sky starts putting on a dark, moody, and absolutely stunning show of its own. There’s this kind of magic in how quickly everything transforms.
And that chill that rolls in before the first drop of rain. That’s what I wanted to bring to life in this painting. The energy, the beauty, and that sense of being completely present in the moment, right in the thick of nature doing her thing.
