Incoming Storm came from a moment at Manly Beach when I watched a storm slowly roll in. One of those times where you can feel the change before you really see it. The temperature drops, the wind shifts, and the sky starts doing its own thing.
I remember standing there, watching the colours move through the clouds and across the water, everything changing minute by minute. There’s something powerful about that moment. Nature reminding you who’s really in charge. It feels raw, a little unsettling, but also strangely calming.
When I painted this, I wasn’t trying to capture the storm itself as much as the feeling just before it arrives. The energy and power, the movement and the shift in temperature.
This piece is a reminder of how alive the coastline can feel when the weather turns. That there is beauty in the chaos, and the respect for mother nature when she is at her strongest.
