Surfer Silhouette came from my love of those old-school images of surfers gathered together with their longboards. There’s something timeless about them. No rush, no noise. Just a quick pause before everything moves again.

In this piece, the boards are standing in the sand beside each surfer, as if they’ve all stopped for a moment to pose for a photo before heading out. It feels like a snapshot in time. The kind of moment that could easily be forgotten, but once captured, holds a quiet weight and familiarity that people connect with.

The low sunset casts long, striking shadows across the sand, stretching the figures and grounding the scene. I leaned into warm, earthy tones to bring in that golden-hour glow, adding depth and softness while keeping the silhouettes simple and honest.
