Red Sunset is all about colour and light.
This piece started from my love of how light hits the water. The way it moves, flickers, and dances across the surface with every ripple and wave. I’ve used a mix of warm reds and oranges alongside cooler tones to keep the painting feeling balanced. The warm colours bring the energy and emotion of the sunset, while the cooler colours calm it all down and give the piece some breathing space.
The original artwork is a 50 x 40 cm acrylic on canvas, painted intuitively and with feeling rather than overthinking it. Love the way this one has finished up.
