Sometimes nature gets the colour combination so right, you just have to stop and take it in.

Light of Day was inspired by a beautiful landscape image that immediately caught my attention. The light, the colour and the atmosphere had this wonderful energy that I wanted to explore in paint.

Rather than recreate the scene exactly, I let my interpretation take over. Bright blues, greens, purples and warm touches of colour are layered with loose brushwork and palette knife, creating plenty of texture, movement and life.

For me, Light of Day is about noticing the beauty that’s already around us. The changing sky, the light hitting the landscape, the colours we see every day but sometimes barely notice.

A little reminder to slow down, look around and take it all in.
