Killcare at Dusk is an original acrylic painting inspired by a photo I took looking across Hardy’s Bay at Killcare on the NSW Central Coast. It’s one of those beautiful parts of the world that instantly makes you want to slow down and stay a little longer.
The view looks across the calm water towards Rip Bridge in the distance, just as the last colour of the day fills the sky. I loved the contrast between the soft pinks and purples of the sunset and the darkening landscape, with the lights along the shoreline beginning to glow and reflect across the water.
For me, scenes like this are a reminder to notice the quieter moments. The day is almost over, everything is settling down, and for a moment there’s nowhere else you need to be. Just a beautiful view, a bit of stillness and the chance to take it all in.
